New York Fashion Week goes on uninterrupted and in-between one show and another I have finally managed to take a tour of the fizziest neighborhood in town: Soho!
And I have had a lot of fun visiting the stores of three unquestioned protagonists of spring-summer 2014: Deborah Lloydfor Kate Spade, Custo Dalmau for Custo Barcelona and Humberto Leon and Carol Lim for Open Ceremony *.
I have immediately realized how both brands have presented amazing flower prints, each one with their own personality, of course, but all feeling like playing mix&match, that is, the most acrobatic exercise that exists, capable of mixing single-color basic items with multi-patterned fabrics.
Let us now see some ideal matching solutions for a spectacular mix&match:
1) if you love your straight trousers, I recommend stylized macro flowers, a slightly flared red coat and a small shoulder bagembellished by colored details (see Kate Spade)
2) if miniskirts, conversely, are your best allies, have fun with macro flowers on glossy fabrics, high-necked shirts in mat silk voile and leather décolleté shoes with tapered tip (see Custo Barcelona)
3) if you like the Eastern style with a special touch, go for nicetwo-color cargo trousers with a tropical flower to be mixed with a crossed top and a maxi slightly aged black leather jacket (seeCeremony).
Any looks you may choose, learn and try on and on and on and onwhat embellishes you the most in front of the mirror, but do not be extreme.
Remember that it is essential to always try your best!
